1. Zazi Kunene

Zazi Kunene plays Sindi on Smoke and Mirrors. She was born May 17, 1999. So, as of 2023, she is 22 years old. She had it hard early in life, as she used to get bullied in school. As a result, her mother moved her to another school called Helen O'Grady, where she studied drama.

But this was fate, as she ended up falling in love with acting and eventually got cast in iconic roles such on Jiva, Shaka Ilembe, and Pinky Pinky.

However, she has complained about playing a lot of horror roles over the years and was really excited about her new romantically involved role on Smoke and Mirrors.

2. Siyabonga Raymond

Siyabonga Raymond Sepotokele is best known for playing Sakhile on Smoke and Mirrors. He was born in 1995 on the 23rd of October. So, as of 2023, he is 28 years old. The man had quite an interesting life growing up.

He grew up around elders. So, he really enjoyed music as a result. In fact, he was discovered by a producer when he started singing in the 6th grade.

He was sort of the golden child at school growing up. Siyabonga credits his late mother as his first agent, as she was the first to believe in him and spread word of his talent when he was young. Now that he is older, he has managed to achieve a lot.


3. Zinhle Mabena

Okay, this one is a bit controversial. Zinhle Mabena plays Virginia on Smoke and Mirrors, a role she has received critical acclaim for. She was born in 1991 on the 8th of June. So, as of 2023, she is 32 years old. But before that, Zinhle has been in the media for all sorts of reasons.

Firstly, Mabena is actually an activist, and she and her late husband have advocated for the rehabilitation of drug addicts, abused women, and children. They even started an NGO together called the NZ Ngwenya Foundation for that sort of thing. Having grown up in a difficult environment herself, Zinhle is quite an activist against violence against women and children.

But that's not all. After her divorce with Robert Mugabe Ngwenya, also known as Robert Mugabe, she was accused by her husband of trying to kill him. However, she refuted the claims, saying that he was the one trying to do her harm. The husband had footage evidence of assailants sent to kill him who shot at his vehicle, killing one of his nen. But the court refused to prosecute.

This wasn't Zinhle's first brush with the law, because while she was still married to Ngwenya, she actually killed two people. Well, this is what happened: Zinhle was drunk driving and speeding on her way home when she had a head-on collision with oncoming traffic, killing two people in a corolla and leaving one with permanent brain damage. The family tried to prosecute her, but to no avail. Today, she has all that behind her and is now starring on Smoke and Mirrors as the beloved Virginia, a role she's absolutely killing for many.
