Artemisia is a rising senior at Wellesley College majoring in Media Arts and Sciences and minoring in Psychology. This summer, Artemisia is working as a UX/UI UROP @ MIT within the Social Machines group at MIT Media Lab. UROP cultivates and supports research partnerships between MIT undergraduates and faculty - whether you join established research projects or pursue your own ideas. The MIT Media Lab is a research laboratory at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, growing out of MIT's Architecture Machine Group in the School of Architecture. Its research does not restrict fixed academic disciplines but draws from technology, media, science, art, and design. The Laboratory of Social Machines (LSM) team uses natural language processing, network science, machine learning, and user experience design to conduct analyses and build tools that promote deeper learning and understanding in human networks.
