We’ve demonstrated just how large the wheelwells on the 2020 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon are a few times. While we’ve found 35s and no lift works just fine given the right tire and wheel combo, moving up to 37s was a different story. Even with our AEV Borah Dualsport wheels boasting a +25mm offset, we were rubbing the front fenders too much to be functional off-road. Despite this, we were still determined to see just how low we could keep the Gladiator and run our 37s (with the front fenders in factory form).

So, for this episode of Inside Line, Senior Off-Road Editor Ali Mansour is installing a 1-inch leveling kit on the front of his 2020 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon and heading to Uwharrie National Forest for some real-world testing. Will it be enough for his 37x12.50R17 Nitto Trail Grapplers to properly cycle on the trail? Be sure to watch until the end to find out.
