Sergio Leone is of course is one of the greatest film makers of all time. Leone’s prestige rose with each of 3 Dollars films, climaxing with The Good The Bad and The Ugly, and he then made Once Upon a Time in the West, acquiring the talents of Charles Bronson and Henry Fonda.

He made the epic gangster film Once Upon a Time in America, released in 1984, starring Robert De Niro. There is an interesting story about how Robert De Niro almost quit the film project, because of something weird Sergio Leone did.
