The most locked down city in the world has exited its sixth lockdown after the state of Victoria reached its 70 per cent fully vaccinated target.

Melbourne has experienced a cumulative 262 days of lockdown over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, the Andrews government is warning it will be a slow return to normal.
