STARGATE UNIVERSE was of course never meant to end with its Season 2 cliffhanger, only 40 episodes into a planned 5-year story. The show's writers were just as shocked as fans when Syfy Channel cancelled the show ... just when it was getting really good.

In this clip from a special installment of "Dial the Gate," host David Read chats about the final season of SGU not just with writer and executive producer Joseph Mallozzi but also his long-time writing partner, fellow Stargate executive producer Paul Mullie! It's great fun to hear them reflect together on learning that the show would be ending, how they crafted story ideas in the writer's room, and just where it was that DESTINY might have ended up.
