China’s bold attempt to copy Rolls Royce Cullinan, Rolls Royce Phantom, and Rolls Royce Ghost with its new Hongqi E-HS9 Electric SUV.

Chinese car companies have a reputation for copying luxury vehicles which has sometimes lead to several legal actions which of course doesn’t seem to stop them. So let’s look into the most luxurious Chinese copycat vehicles that is on sale in China, a Rolls Royce luxury vehicle, and to get the most interesting facts you need to see out the video. Let’s get down to it!
There are various copycats versions of established luxurious models in China which include fake versions of the Ranger Rover Evoque, Toyota Land Cruiser, and Cadillac CT6 just to name a few. China automakers have even copy famous motorcycles and sell them in their market. Famous German manufacturer, BMW redesigned their grilles to be big because China’s market tends to like it, however, China’s market itself is known to copy the design of big manufacturers and successful cars. About four years back, Shuang-Huan Auto created a lookalike of Honda’s CR-V grass-and-gravel off-roader. So incensed were Honda that they sued Shuang-Huan, which counter-sued.
With all the legal actions, it seems like China automakers haven’t had enough of copying car models and have stepped up to one of the most established luxury automakers, Rolls Royce. Geely Automobile, one of China’s major independent car makers, launched its GE – which stand for “Geely Excellence” at the Shanghai Auto Show, and the sedan attracted much interest for its resemblance to the ‘God of luxury,’ the Rolls Royce Phantom model. With a flying lady on the bonnet, its vast classical radiator and familiar contours, it looks for all the world like a Rolls-Royce.
Geely has taken the design specs of the Phantom to a whole new level. The Geely GE have imitated the same large front fascia, headlamps and even the ‘Spirit of Ecstacy’. The grille, the Spirit of Ecstasy, and the Rolls-Royce name and initials are specifically protected by Rolls-Royce, but Geely doesn’t not seem to care about that.
The Rolls Royce Phantom built in Goodwood, Sussex with its £250,000 price-tag, has always been the preserve of the privileged few. The Phantom comes with a Mammoth 6.75litre V12 engine and it has a length of 19 feet 2 inches. With a top seed of 150 miles per hour the Phantom can sprint from 0 to 62 miles per hour in 5.7 seconds. The Rolls Royce Phantom features, an original 'Grecian-style' large grille, spirit of Ecstasy mascot, romantic starlight headliner in roof to emulate night sky, drip dry umbrellas hidden in rear doors, 9 standard wood veneers, 44,000 different exterior colors, cashmere blend headliner, and lambswool rugs special soft leather interior.
