Popocatépetl is the 5th highest peak in North America, standing at 5,400 metres / 18,000 feet above sea level, although the tarmac road ends at 3,700m / 12,00ft. I have ridden up here a couple of times before when I lived in Mexico and it's always a special trip and a big day out. The first time I rode up here was with friends and we were all on track bikes, crazy to think of what we did on one gear ten years ago.
I apolgise for my bike still sounding like a chainsaw in yet another video! I had it running silently for the Mexico trip but the front derailleur took a knock in transport and I did not realise this until I had started rolling.
Thanks to Oscar, Pancho, and Alex for helping make this one happen!
