The first criminal trial of a former U.S. president begins in New York City. Donald Trump is charged with falsifying business records to cover hush-money payments. Right away, many potential jurors are dismissed after they say they cannot render an impartial judgement.

President Joe Biden speaks about what he calls the "unprecedented military effort to defend Israel" against Iran, declaring "together with our partners we defeated that attack." Israel is still decided how it will respond to the weekend's assault by Iran with 300+ missiles and drones fired at Israel.
