In this video, we introduce the concept of supply chain strategy. Strategic supply chain management is the process of planning, implementing, and controlling the operations of the supply chain with the goal of providing maximum customer satisfaction at minimum cost. The main objectives of strategic supply chain management are to reduce costs, improve customer service, and increase profits. To achieve these objectives, supply chain managers must plan and control the flow of materials, information, and funds across the entire supply chain.
We explore the different types of supply chain strategies and discuss the benefits and challenges of each. We also provide an overview of the global supply chain landscape and the different approaches companies can take to supply chain management.
