1. Let the days pass by and do as they please.
2. And be optimistic when destiny decrees
3. Do not despair due to the events of nights past.
4. For the events of this world are not to last.
5. And be a person strong in the face of calamities.
6. And let your nature be that of kindness and honesty.
7. And if your faults become many and manifest,
8. and you wish that they were to be concealed
9. Then know that kindness covers all faults.
10. And how many faults are kept hidden by kindness!
11. Never should you seek to humiliate your enemies
12. For in your hatred of others is a great trial
13. Generosity cannot be hoped from the miserly
14. The parched do not quench their thirst from fire
15. Your wealth will not diminish by neglect,
16. And it cannot be increased from your haste
17. No sadness lasts forever, nor any happiness.
18. And you shall not remain in poverty or any luxury
19. If, in your heart, you possess contentment
20. Then you and the kings of the world are equal.
21. And for him upon whose horizon death descends
22. No land can protect him, nor any sky.
23. God’s earth is certainly vast.
24. But when the decree descends, then breath is constricted.
25. Let the world betray and deceive every moment -
26. For no cure can avail a person of death
