The USS Somerset (LPD-25) is a San Antonio-class Amphibious Transport Dock. It is also known as a Landing Platform Dock (LPD), a warship that carries, transports, and lands Expeditionary Forces, including personnel, amphibious vehicles and aircraft. These are provided by the US Marine Corps.

The San Antonio-class typically transport Tilt-Rotor Aircraft, Landing Craft Air Cushions (LCAC) (hovercrafts) or Landing Craft Utility (LCU) vessels that can land marines and automobiles, such as Assault Amphibious Vehicles (AAV).
