Saturday marks 25 years since the mass shooting at Columbine -- a shooting that took the lives of 12 students and one teacher. Recently, we sat down with a number of the families of the victims to get their perspective on the passage of time.

Lauren Townsend was the captain of the volleyball team, but her mom, Dawn Anna, says she was anything but “graceful” on the court. Her stepdad, Bruce Beck, says Lauren made it her goal to make someone laugh or smile every day. She was a preemie, born nine and a half weeks early. Her mom thinks she was in a hurry to get here, but she knew she wasn’t going to be here long.
