When the New FAA REMOTE ID for Drones Rule came out so did BIG changes to Flights over People and Flying at Night rules that will determine what is now legal whether you’re a 107 or recreational pilot. I’ll go through these changes one by one and explain them so we can understand the 107.29 rules and what they really mean to us. It seems that the FAA actually relaxed the regulations a bit which is quite a departure compared to the normal direction, but hopefully this is a new trend.

Couple of quick clarifications: I incorrectly stated that the existing 107 Daylight Waivers will expire on March 15th, 2021 and they will actually be good until May 15th.
Also, I stated 107 pilots can apply for a "waiver" to fly at night in controlled airspace and I meant to say "Authorization".
The FAA has delayed the flights at night training until April 6th now as the the Biden administration has put a hold on all pending regulations. This will probably slip again.
