This is how your Investment should look like in different age brackets! No matter of your current age.. 18 , 25, 35, 45 or 55... there is going to be (I hope) a piece of wisdom for everyone here.

Priorities for age group 18 - 24

1. Investing in yourself
2. Have plan to payoff your debt payoff. Not necessarily to payoff the debt at this age, it would be nice.. but at least to have a plan in mind.
- student loan
- high interest debt
- other loans
3. Start investing into stock market with every pay check and take advantage of compound interest.
- open your TFSA/RRSP account and start contribute to it
- invest into index funds and or ETF
- its ok to be aggressive at this age as you have a lot of time ahead of you
- investing into high potential long-term growth stocks is might something in your interest
- it is OK to not get the full picture of investments at this age, but you gotta start here to get a full potential from compounding

Priorities for age group 25 - 34

1. Payoff all the existing debt that you have (except for mortgage.. as that one is a very long-term one and it is ok to keep it for a little longer)
2. Contribute more to your TFSA/RRSP and even maxing them out regularly througout this age bracket
3. Keep increasing your income

Priorities for age group 35 - 44

I'm going to be soon in this bracket.. so I've been thinking about it a lot lately.

1. Double down on your investments
2. Be more retirement minded
3. Diversify your investments
4. Assess your retirement plan

Priorities for age group 45 - 54

1. Do not lose money!
2. Diversification is the key.. if you started doing it in the previous bucket - great and you gotta keep doing it here.. and if you haven't - now is a great time to start doing it and diversify your portfolio into different asset classes like real estate, fixed income.
3. Move some of your investments into balanced or even conservative type of investment portfolio. Now, even though I said to start looking into balanced and conservative options for your portfolio.. it is still important to have a part of your portfolio allocated to growth as you are not 100 y.o. just yet and you gotta grow your portfolio until then.

Priorities for age group 55+

1. Assess what else you need to comfortably living off your retirement investment
2. Continue all the best practices from the previous buckets
- but shift more into conservative at this age even more
- you can even build up/transform your portfolio to a dividend portfolio at this age - that would help you out with the passive income for the rest of your life
3. Start thinking about taxes.. as you are going to be probably start withdrawing money from RRSP really soon.

Cheers,
Alex
