In 2023 I headed to Wales to visit the Llangollen Motor Museum, a fine collection of pre- and post-war cars and related automobilia that I've visited on numerous occasions before but never with a view to making a video.
There are many good reasons to visit Llangollen, not least the stunning scenery, the famous steam railway, and the town itself which has quite a variety of shops nestled within it, but the car museum - a mile or so out of the town centre - is my favourite destination.
This video is primarily about the Llangollen Motor Museum, although after completing my visit I take a quick look at the town itself and dive into an antiques/collectables centre to see what I might find automobile related ... I wasn't to be disappointed.
Many motor museums are large, light and airy affairs, often housed within a purpose-built air-conditioned building, with everything neatly laid out according to plan. I think it's fair to say that the building housing the Llangollen Motor Museum is none of those things, which actually adds to the experience I think. I'd much rather visit an old building housing a huge mix of classic cars, antique tools, motorcycles, toy cars and memorabilia, with every corner packed with something or other of interest, than a sparsely laid-out display with few actual exhibits. Give me a place like the Llangollen car museum any day.
Thanks to the museum's owners for letting me have a walk and talk amongst their many prized exhibits. I don't think the camera settings were quite 100% (video or audio) but hopefully you'll get the idea.
