This anime franchise has one of the widest range of villains in any shonen anime. Some villains are cartoonishly evil, like Danzo or the Ten Tailed Jinjurikin while others are more humanized. The more sympathetic a bad guy is the more well-rounded they tend to be. Sure, the story about how good triumphs over evil is a classic, but some viewers want more than that. Some fans want to see the villain’s tragic backstory, they want to see how they became the villain they are when they fight the hero. I’d go so far as to say a lot of viewers want to root for the villain at times. Often the second most popular character in any franchise is the bad guy

I mean to this day fans still talk about Gaara and the other sand siblings and the trauma they went through. It makes them more human. If the protagonist can sympathize with them, you know they are a well-made villain. That’s not to say they are correct, but there is a reason they do what they do. Today we will be looking at some of the best examples of sympathetic orange ninja villains. Some end up redeeming themselves in the end like The Uchiha brothers Sasuke and Itachi. We of course over Nagato aka Pain and his fall from grace. We plan to look at these villains and more.
