The US State Department says about 1,000 Americans have contacted them for information on evacuating Haiti. As American citizens begin to get evacuated by military helicopters in a desperate bid for safety, tens of thousands of Haitians have also fled the capital. But their escape is fueling concerns that Haiti's crisis could lead to a migrant exodus to the US.
