Two police vehicles ploughed into a cordon of protesters in Brooklyn, New York on 30 May.

The incident happened during demonstrations over the death of George Floyd.

The police vehicles’ path was blocked by protesters and the SUVs were being pelted by objects.

When the second police vehicle arrived, both SUVs accelerated into the protesters.

Several people were knocked to the ground.

Following the incident, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said that the footage was “upsetting” but that it was also
“inappropriate for protesters to surround a police vehicle and threaten police officers.”

Mr Floyd died on Monday in Minnesota after a police officer put his knee on Mr Floyd's neck for more than eight minutes. The officer was arrested on Friday and charged with third-degree murder.
