H Pylori, or Helicobacter Pylori, is bacteria that can grow in the stomach. It thins out the lining of the stomach, causing atrophy (or damage) and inflammation. This makes your stomach sensitive to hydrochloric acid, enzymes, and gastric juices even though you need them for proper digestion. This will cause pain (especially in the upper part of your abdomen), and increase your risk of getting ulcers, gastritis, and in some cases stomach cancer. H Pylori also interferes with stomach acidity and proper enzyme functioning, causing a negative domino effect on digestion and absorption of nutrients, as well as bacterial overgrowth.

What are the Symptoms of H Pylori?

1. Dull or burning pain in the stomach, usually in the upper part of the abdomen. It may come and go, and it may come on an empty stomach. This may be a sign of an ulcer.
2. Acid reflux, LPR
3. Bloating
4. Burping
5. Nausea and vomiting
6. Indigestion, food stuck in the upper stomach like a rock
7. Bad breath
8. Loss of appetite or weight loss
9. Other non-digestive symptoms like mood swings, anxiety, fatigue, joint and muscle pain
