This technique is fast and efficient and can sand as big as you need. I have done tops up to 54” diameter x 2” thick. Hardest part of this is the ability to not have the top spin to fast, you can use a block with some sandpaper to apply downward pressure vs your hand as it can heat up pretty quick. When creating your circle whether on the band saw or router use a table top pin or dowel for your spindle vs a screw.
