A snow foam is a car shampoo specifically designed and formulated to create great amounts of cleaning suds in a foam cannon or foam gun to lubricate the surface to avoid scratching the paintwork during washing. Snow foams are typically used during the pre-wash stage, meaning you first start by spraying the snow foam to free the car of loose dirt and debris, then rinse it away. Then you proceed to wash your car with your favourite wash mitt and soap.

Snow foams have polymers and surfactants that encapsulate and release dirt, dust, pollen and debris, allowing them to simply be rinsed away for a scratch-free wash. A regular car shampoo will still produce some foam if used in a foam cannon, but for better results, use snow foams which are specifically made for the task. A proper snow foam formula will cling to the surface and work much better than a regular shampoo.

Directions are super simple. Create your soapy solution (read the label’s instructions!) and spray the car until it’s coated in foam. Let it dwell for five minutes, then return to rinse it all off with your pressure washer. Work in the shade, and on cool surfaces.

-Dilution ratio of snow foam
-Hard water vs soft water
