I spent a weekend with a good friend chasing after this beast of a locomotive as it thrashed its way up the Highland Mainline and then back south via the east coast. We lucked out with the weather and were happy to meet many fellow punters out and about too - hello if you're watching!

I don't mention it anywhere in the video but as well as the star of the show, D213 (40013) 'Andania', also featured bringing up the rear and providing some extra shove when needed is D1935 (47805) 'Roger Hosking MA 1925-2013'.

Both locos performed brilliantly and appear to be in excellent condition. Experiencing the 40 climbing Slochd with little to no support from the 47 was a sight!
