Hawaii Fire Departments Central Fire Station was constructed during the late 1930s. The federal (PWA)federal Public Works Administration contributed nearly half the project cost by way of a grant of $35,100; the final cost of the project was $71,919.
Being one of the oldest stations on The Big Island of Hawaii, it houses a history of hardworking and motivated individuals proud to work and serve one of the busiest districts on the island.
