The final two films of the Twilight saga were brought to life together, but each film required a lot of work to bring different scenes to the screen! Bella’s birthing scene, the big wedding and of course, the steamy love-making scene between Edward and Bella were particularly intense to pull off. The birthing scene involved prosthetic dummy’s of both Kristen Stewart’s body and little infant Renesmee, an actual baby and a lot of cream cheese and strawberry jam. As for when Bella and Edward get very up close and personal - the spicy scene wound up having to be re-filmed since the first time around was too intense and earned an R-rating.
Robert Pattinson may have looked smooth, boating through the waters of Brazil with Kristen Stewart by his side, but what didn’t make the final cut was when the actor crashed the boat while doing a take in front of about 5000 people watching! Brazil wasn’t so for the cast and crew either, when they wound up getting stranded on a small island because of a torrential downpour.
The wedding was no small affair - guests included some creative members of the time, security was extremely tight and Bella’s wedding dress was kept under wraps - literally! The whole set was hidden by tarps and umbrellas to make sure no one got a glimpse of the epic scene.
If it seems like most of the actors in Twilight were incredibly fit - it’s because they were. Lautner was used to keeping in shape to show off his six pack, Pattinson worked out to prep for his intimate scene and Kellan Lutz just worked out in his spare time on set!
