The 2022 Ford Maverick has been a big hit among consumers since its introduction in 2021.
In fact, you’re probably seeing more Mavericks on the streets in your city. I know we are.
The model is so popular that the red hot Hybrid model sold out quickly as well as Ford…AND Ford paused orders on the 2.0L EcoBoost I-4 powered models. And since the Maverick is so popular, you’re not going to find many incentives or discounts on the vehicle…and that extends to the leasing side of the business.
Hey, while we have you for a moment, would you hit that subscribe button if you like these updates and hey, hit that like button too. We truly appreciate it. Alright, back to the story
Ford has quietly canceled lease deals for the 2022 Maverick to make it more difficult for consumers to find an offer. According to recent dealer incentives announcements, the changes took effect on February 1, just a few days after reports that Ford had suspended Maverick order due to the overwhelming demand.

Last month Ford's estimated cost for the 2022 Maverick XLT Hybrid in Los Angeles was $236 for 39 months. There was a $2,622 payment due at the time of signing for an estimated cost of $303 per month. Currently, Ford isn't even listing the payment for lease through its site. This is because the Maverick is no longer eligible for promotions lease rates.

For Southern California, the lease currency factor for Maverick leases begins at 0.05 percent for leases with a term of 24 months. It rises to 3.22 percent and 3.47 percent for 36-month and 39-month leases for 36-month and 39-month leases, respectively. It is still possible to lease one, but as of January 1, every Maverick is now allowed to lease at standard rates only if leased through Ford Credit.

Ford's standard rates are between 5-6% annually, depending on the length of the lease. If you want to purchase, Ford also abolished the no-cost financing offer for Maverick and increased the interest rate by one percent. The current rate for 72 months is 4.9 percent.
Maverick leases can be a bit less easy to negotiate. For instance, Ford Credit has excluded the most affordable Maverick XL in lease agreements, even though the 2022 Maverick begins at $21,490, including the delivery. We reported it last month; Maverick was also excluded from the $1,000 factory purchase discount.

Customers can still buy 2022 Maverick from the dealer's inventory; however, markups have plagued many of these models, and Ford has already increased prices for certain variants of its new compact pickup. In the meantime, those who wish to buy a 2023 Maverick will be able to make the purchase when order lists starting opening back up again in August 2022.
Although Ford has stopped accepting orders, you can always check with a nearby dealer to see if they have trucks available. Even though getting one that doesn't have a dealer markup may be difficult, if you're not willing to deposit money and wait for Ford to begin accepting orders for 2023's Maverick in the summer, this might be the only option.
