On June 17, 2023, Concordia University, the NouLa Centre for Black Students, The Black Perspectives Office and the Black Alumni Network will be hosting its annual Black Graduation Celebration! 

The Black Student Graduation Celebration is a moment to recognize and celebrate Concordia’s Black graduates for their hard work, contributions and achievements, and to usher them into a strong network of fellow graduates, faculty, staff and alumni.

The celebration is also a moment to pay homage to the many generations of Black Concordia graduates who have paved the way.

The ceremony takes place each year in mid June, falling closest to June 19, also known as Juneteenth, which celebrates the freedom of enslaved Black peoples in the United States at the end of the civil war. For 158 years, Juneteenth has been observed and celebrated across the United States by African American peoples and recognized worldwide by African diaspora.
