Jillian takes an exclusive tour of the most expensive vehicle at Overland Expo West. The custom built rig from Global Expedition Vehicles appropriately named Pangea Sky Lounge.
The Specs: six-wheel-drive, rear steer, locking differentials, 200 gallons of diesel, 14.9-liter Cummins X15 diesel that produces 500 HP and 1,850 lb-ft torque, Allison 4700 RDS seven-speed automatic transmission, Hutchinson military-spec aluminum split-rim beadlock wheels with 46-inch Michelin tires. Inside there is a washer and dryer, king size bed, heated towel racks. For cooking, there’s a 15-inch induction cooktop and a double drawer 12.6 cubic foot refrigerator, 150-gallon tank of fresh water, 56 gallons for gray water. The expanding roof transforms this rig into a second-story lounge complete with a grill and refrigerator.
