When millions of Ukrainians were forced to flee their homes almost a year ago, many left not knowing where they would end up or for how long. Short- to mid-term shelter options became a major concern for both refugees and hosts.

These concerns grew as winter approached, especially since many collective shelter centers lacked proper heating and insulation. In partnership with UNHCR, CORE embarked on a rehabilitation project, renovating public spaces and shelters in the Podkarpackie region of Poland.
