Young and scrappy Lt Benjamin Hubert Hodgson was one of George Armstrong Custer's Seventh Cavalry officers who died at the Little Bighorn on June 25th, 1876.

Benny was with Major Reno’s adjutant and he was shot during the retreat from the timber. During the Reno Court of Inquiry, Reno referred to Benny as a “great favorite,” but Benny had also had his share of trouble.

Join me for a brief discussion of his life, his death, and even his afterlife…

Many thanks to the folks who generously help me with these presentations, especially Dale Kosman, Bill Rini, and Peter Russell (check out Peter's excellent www.menwithcuster.com for fantastic bios and photos of members of the Seventh and their family members).
