[00:00:02] Saint Louis University, also known as SLU, is located in the dynamic urban center of Saint Louis, Missouri's Midtown Arts District, stretching over 281 acres. Campus is home to nearly 130 buildings, where students thrive academically and socially, embrace hands-on learning opportunities and make lifelong connections. Step through the archways that mark campus entrances and into a park-like setting dotted with hammocks, fountains and welcoming places to study. There's always a place to meet a friend or grab a bite to eat day or night. Sluice academic buildings are home to a dozen schools, colleges and degree granting centers. State of the art classrooms, labs and clinics help prepare students for careers in STEM health, business, law, education and the arts. One of campus's most recognizable buildings is Pius Library, home to more than 1 million volumes, including many rare books. It's also where you'll find sluice academic technology commons equipped with 3D printers, recording studios, a virtual reality simulator, and more collaborative learning spaces that allow students to work closely with professors and participate in research are key. At SLU, the Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Building opened in 2020, features innovative teaching environments and flexible lab spaces, while the Boise Research Center, whose iconic flotilla can be spotted from nearly anywhere on campus, is the home base for SLU research in vaccine development, medicine and more.

[00:01:53] Nearby, you'll find SLU's competitive school of medicine, the first established west of the Mississippi River, a short shuttle ride away and strategically located near Saint Louis courthouses. The School of Law. Another first in the region stands 12 stories tall and is a landmark downtown. Also defining SLU skyline are some of SLU's 11 apartment and residence hall options. Many residence halls feature learning communities which are devoted to helping students achieve their academic goals and connect with other Billikens. Options range from single rooms to quads, courtyard apartments or high rises with views of the city. So you'll find an option perfect for you. Residence halls at SLU are more than where you sleep. Inside you'll find classrooms, areas dedicated to worship and communal areas like kitchens, free laundry facilities, and lounges. You'll also find lots of places to eat, including an All You Care to eat dining hall, several coffee spots, and popular takeout options that can be enjoyed on cozy patios located all over campus. Finding your place and being supported are a big part of this culture, so you'll have easy access to services right where you need them. Many administrative functions take place in DuBourg Hall, which was the very first building on this current campus. But you'll also find resources like our Student Success Center, Health and Counseling Services. Simon Recreation Center, Career Services, and more.

[00:03:31] While most places on campus can be quickly reached on foot or bike, you'll also find shuttle services and safety escorts that easily get you where you need to go. And a conveniently located light rail Metrolink station connects you to the city. While SLU is in the middle of all Saint Louis has to offer, there are also plenty of ways to stay entertained and get involved right on campus, including Division one, sports, three museums, Live Theater, and Chaifetz Arena, one of the city's best venues for concerts and sporting events, attend Mass at College Church among the country's most beautiful campus churches. Or volunteer with one of SLU as many student organizations focused on social justice, the home of student life and involvement is SLU’s Busch Student Center with dining, meeting space, and more. But many students also say the Center for Global Citizenship is among their favorite spots on campus. Flags flying atop its roofline represent the home countries of SLU students, faculty, staff, and alumni and on nice days.
