This tutorial breaks the build down into easy to follow steps and talks about design trade-offs when making this legendary replica including light and sound. As with all my builds I attempt to use simple techniques and easy to find materials.

Here's the parts list for this build:
Plumbing pipe 11/2" X 12" (chrome plated brass)
Rubber car floor mat
kid's $3 generic light saber (found at Walmart, 5 and Below)
D-ring (made out of 9 gauge wire, thinner wire will also work)
1" diameter metal ring (mine came from an old lamp post)
2 one-inch slices of Aluminum L 1"X 1/16"
2 RG 6 connectors (found part)
2 old RCA connectors with gold ends (found part)
1- 1" Sharktube/PEX pipe coupler (to receive lightsaber blade)
5 #6 1/2" bolts and nuts
6 rivets 3mm X 6mm or you could use Phillips head screws
red push button switch or 9mm dowel with red paint
Legos or you could use a 3/4" square dowel ~1.9 inches long
scrap wooden painter's stirrers
aluminum HVAC tape
1 hose clamp 12mm thick and at least 49mm or1.9" long
1 1/2 pvc coupler
1 10mm clear bumper

1 snap in sink hole cover
11/4" long piece of 1" Schedule 20 PVC pipe (thinner than sched 40)
1 3/16 toggle bolt
black spray paint
glue (my prferences are: DAP rapid fuse and E6000)
