Early morning skin up to the Profanity Chute off the summit of Mt. Mansfield. Wider and less steep than the Hourglass Chute, Profanity Chute is a fun and accessible route. From the top of the Stowe gondola, hike up the "Hiking Chute" to the top, at which point take a right. Profanity is about 100 yards across the ridge from the top of the hike. The hike is fairly easy, taking most 20-30 minutes. Due to this run's popularity, in most cases there will be tracks to follow for the duration of the run, making navigation easy.

If skinning from the parking lot, take Perry Merrill up before the gondola starts running at 8:30am.

In this video I exited via the Long Trail. According to FatMaps there may be a wider exit route running parallel up the hill from the Long Trail. Something to keep in mind.

Expect to exit onto Chin Clip, at which point it is an easy mogul run back to the gondola.

Route:
Perry Merrill - Hiking Chute - Profanity Chute - Long Trail - Chin Clip

Date: February 15th + 22nd, 2020
Time: 6:00am - 9:30am (from parking lot)
Temperature: -11 degrees
