A summarized version of a Fijian Lovo, traditional form of cooking in the earth . Well it is modified to suit our location. The first step in preparing a lovo is heating the rocks (bricks) which will serve as the base for the lovo. When the rocks(bricks) are sufficiently heated, they are pulled from the flames and placed in the bottom of a shallow pit. Once the pit is filled with food, red meats, then white then vegies etc. The entire hole is filled with earth and left to 'cook' for anywhere from two to three hours depending on the amount of food.
Just like any feast it gives a chance to get together with family and friends and loved ones, share experiences, create new memories
