My mom passed earlier this year and it has been extremely hard. It is also her birthday next week and in memory of her I wanted to post this. This is the introduction to her entrance into the Alameda County Women's Hall Of Fame. My mom was one of the first rape crisis counselors in the Bay Area and was the Director of BAWAR (Bay Area Women's Against Rape) for 30+ years. Unfortunately she was diagnosed with Parkinson's right after retirement and faded pretty quick after that. She was a counselor at several prisons in California and also trained counselors suicide prevention and prisoners suicide prevention so they can identify and help those in need. All in all my Momma was a HERO and there is not an hour that goes by where I do not think about her. Hopefully you watch this video so you can also see how cool my Mom is!
