Bradford Pear trees (a.k.a. Callery Pears) were once touted as the perfect tree, but have become an ecological disaster over much of the United States. So much so, that several states have placed a BOUNTY on their heads!

Look for a bounty or buy-back program in your area, they mostly occur in March and April - and consider replacing this invasive tree with a tree that is native to your region and that provides ecological value for birds and pollinators!
