Michael Miller, producer and mix engineer, talks to us about why his VT-5s and VT-7s are always on and what he means by "Fixing It In The Fearn".

Highlights:
"There is [no gear] that I know really know of something that works, that changes your life, but works on everything at all times, that's always on and never off. At least to my knowledge, I don't know anything that anyone has that is on the mix bus at all times no matter what. And that's huge. Everything is running into it. What else can you ask for? Something that is giving you clarity, warmth, low-end, dynamics, headroom... As soon as you put something in the session and you have it set to run through that, it's going to sound better." -Michael

I could say, as the designer of it, my approach on everything, is I get it where I think should start from, and I listen to it for a long time, and I say, what bothers me about that - get rid of that. Now, what bothers me? Get rid of that. And I keep doing that until there's nothing left that bothers me. I just don't want to be bothered by what it sounds like. -Doug

I also want to make sure that no matter how you turn the knobs, the box will never sound bad. -Doug
