Although there's still a long way to go, the entertainment industry has been doing its part in advancing LGBTQ rights. There's been a conscious effort of inclusion and representation on television, in movies, as well as in the music industry.

However, the hip hop genre has shown its reluctance to embrace LGBTQ representation before, and some of its artist’s lyrical content hasn't been kind to the LGBTQ community. However, any progress is a start.
