The plaque on top of the Traveler's Monument says "on this site in 1897 nothing happened".
What an unforgettable adventure. This trip has everything river crossings, lava tubes, sand dunes, old cabins, mines, and a drive in the largest and densest population of Joshua Trees in the world (even more so than its nearby neighbor, Joshua Tree National Park ).
