The Volvo XC90 is a 7-passenger, 3-row luxury SUV for buyers that like a refined cabin, comfortable seats and engine choices. The Volvo XC90 utility vehicle is available as a T5 turbocharged 4-cylinder, a T6 turbocharged and Supercharged 4-cylinder or this T8, equipped with the same engine as the T6 but adds electrification to make it a plug-in hybrid. The T5 has 250hp, the T6 has 316hp and the T8 has 400hp. All use an 8-speed automatic and all are AWD in the Canadian market. The T8 tested here is capable of a run to 100km/h in 5.6 seconds. The design of the XC90 luxury SUV has been a standout since this model was introduced in 2015. In fact, the XC90 7-passenger crossover has won numerous awards for design bot inside and out. New for 2020 is a slight tweak to the outside grilled headlamps but not much a design change. The same interior found in 2015 is till very strong with the XC90, the simple and elegant design has stood up very well and the 9-inch infotainment screen is daily easy to use and processing speeds have improved the usability. The big question is the price of the T8 to get just 30km of electric range, adding roughly $13,000 in cost?
