L'Arc-en-Ciel／VAMPSのヴォーカリストでありソロアーティスト。2001年からソロ活動をスタートし、
日本のみならずワールドワイドに活動している。
ニューヨーク Madison Square Gardenや国立競技場などでのライヴ実績もあり、日本において世界で最も活躍しているアーティストの一人。
2022年6月より、対バン形式のスタンディング ライヴハウスツアー『HYDE LIVE 2022 RUMBLE FISH』を開催。9月には、Zepp HanedaにてRUMBLE FISHの追加公演やシューティングライヴなど、日毎に多様な形式で「HYDE LIVE 2022」を開催。
5日目の公演の模様がLIVE VIEWINGで日本全国の映画館に生中継されるほか、最終日のBEAUTY & THE BEASTの模様はStagecrowdにて全世界に生中継された。
