This is the complete transliteration (in Roman script) and translation in English of Allama Iqbal's famous poems Shikwa and Jawab-e-Shikwa as rendered by the Sabri Brothers. The video is mainly intended for those who cannot read Urdu script and have difficulty in understanding complex Urdu words.

I worked for over two months for this video and tried to make the translation as best as possible. At places I had any difficulty I referred to other translations, one by certain Md. Ali Shariff (actually translated by his mother Ms Jameela Osman), which I found on the internet and the other translation by Sardar Khushwant Singh. But my main help came from the dictionary of Rekhta.org, the site which had always been greatly helpful to me to improve my Urdu language.
The translation provided here is a straight and simple one in my own way, without being poetic. This is not a literary translation and also not a detailed explanation, but something in between so that the listener can understand what is being said without losing the actual meaning. I did not venture to provide the underlying metaphorical meaning as I don't think I am a right person to do that when so many greats had not been able to do it properly. But still if anyone has any questions, I'll try to provide whatever explanation I can.
I request every one to please comment about my own effort as well as about the poem and rendition. Thank you

The three stanzas from Jawab-e-Shikwa that were not rendered in this track are:
JS18
------
Dam-e-taqreer thi muslim ki sadaqat bebaak
Adl us ka tha qawi, laus-e-mara'at se paak

Shajar-e-fitrat-e-muslim tha haya se namnaak
Tha shujaat mein woh ek hasti-e-fauq-ul-idraak

Khud-gudazi nam-e-kaifiyat-e-sehbayesh bood
Khali az khwaish shudan soorat-e-meenayesh bood

JS28
---------
Paak hai gard-e-watan se sirr-e-daaman tera
Tu woh yousuf hai ke har misr hai kan'aan tera

Qafila ho na sakega kabhi veeran tera
Ghair yak baang-e-dara kuch nahin samaan tera

Nakhl-e-shama asti o dar shola dawad resha-e-tu
Aaqebat soz bawad saya-e-andesha-e-tu

JS31
----------
Chashm-e-aqwam se makhfi hai haqeeqat teri
Hai abhi mehfil-e-hasti ko zaroorat teri

Zinda rakhti hai zamane ko haraarat teri
Kaukab-e-qismat-e-imkan hai khilafat teri

Waqt-e-fursat hai kahan, kaam abhi baqi hai
Noor-e-tauheed ka itmam abhi baqi hai

Correction:
At 5:41 please read "Gardon(trifles) pe guzar rakhti hai" as Gardoon(skies) pe guzar rakhti hai"
meaning passes/reaches the skies. Meaning of complete line is "Originates from dust and reaches the skies".
