We wanted to start raising baby chicks so we ordered 15 from Cackle Hatchery and they arrived today! As we begin our homesteading journey our first animals are chickens!

We ordered dual purpose breeds so that we can use them for both egg and meat production. In this video I show our brooder set up and how the baby chicks first day went!
