71 years ago, on June 13, 1944, a frightening new terror weapon rained down from the skies. Britons accurately termed it the "Doodlebug" because of the sound the engine made, but the silence was far more terrifying.

Dolly and Ron Howard married in 1939, and like many other couples were separated when the War began. Ron was shipped off to India and Dolly was left to raise children and protect them from the Blitz alone. Doodlebug tells her story.
