In this Vlog I share my experience of walking from Coventry City (Ricoh Arena) to Leicester City FC as part of The Big Step's event to tackle football's relationship with gambling.

It was awesome to meet so many lovely people, especially those who - like me - have been affected by gambling addiction.

ABOUT THE BIG STEP

The Big Step is a charity project that was founded in 2019 by a recovering gambling addict and by Gambling with Lives, a charity set up by bereaved families of young men who took their own life as a result of their gambling addiction.

Formed from lived experience of gambling related harm, we advocate for a public health approach to preventing gambling harm through our campaigning, education and awareness work.

Since then, we have:

-Walked hundreds of miles to football clubs on our campaigning Big Step events.
-Handed a signed letter to Downing Street calling on the government to end gambling advertising and sponsorship in football.
-Developed education and signposting partnerships with football clubs.

We are calling for:

-An end to gambling advertising, sponsorship and promotion in football.
-Football clubs to deliver preventative education, awareness and signposting in their community.
