DuBois moves to fire former city manager; SEPTA suspends AI program to detect guns

The City of DuBois is moving forward with the process to fire its former city manager, Herm Suplizio, who's accused of stealing more than $600,000 in funds from the Clearfield County community. As SEPTA looks to beef up security in the wake of a spate of recent shootings, it's backing away from one plan. The agency has suspended an artificial intelligence program that was supposed to help detect guns.  Buprenorphine is a medication that helps wean people off illicit opioids. Providers are more likely to write prescriptions in areas that are very white. That's according to a recent study from University of Pittsburgh researchers. A Central Pennsylvania county is planning to create a home for transition-age young people in order to help them find long-term housing.
