I've just got in a 2020 Hyundai Ioniq Electric Premium SE which I'll be using myself for a while. So now while we're running two indentical cars, both 2020 Ioniq 38kWh EVs, I'm going to test the impact using the Bluelink app has on the 12V battery drain. On our other Ioniq, we've never used the app or even activated Bluelink in the car and we've not had a single issue with the 12V battery or any drain at all over the last 7 months. So now with the new Ioniq, I'm going to setup Bluelink and by using a BM2 bluetooth battery monitor, I can monitor the draining of the 12V battery and see if the Bluelink app is the cause of dead 12V batteries that many owners are experiencing.
The BM2 device monitors the 12V battery and gives you an advance notice on your Android or Apple iOS mobile phone if the battery is draining and going flat. They cost £21 and I would highly recommend all EV drivers fit one of these to their vehicle.
