In this video, we analyse footage of surfers from a POV perspective. The initial inspiration came from Dylan Lightfoot's POV footage at Jay Bay, South Africa. This prompted us to build our own rig for capturing POV footage. Then we compared two different surfers at Urban Surf. The analysis breaks down the techniques of both surfers, highlighting their perspectives while riding the wave. Bongo tends to look down the line, forcing turns and losing speed, while Gabriel looks where he wants to go, resulting in smoother and more precise maneuvers.
