Lewis Hamilton’s 2013 Mercedes W04 going through pre-demo run checks by the Mercedes Heritage team at the 2023 Silverstone Festival.

The car was driven by Esteban Gutiérrez at the event on Sunday 27th August 2023, the only day I was not at the circuit. I shot this footage on Friday and Saturday.

This is Mercedes’ last V8-engined F1 car as the V6 turbo hybrid engines were introduced from 2014. 2013 paved the way for the infamous Hamilton vs Rosberg rivalry as it was their first year together as team mates in F1. Hamilton joined Mercedes from McLaren to replace Michael Schumacher following his retirement from F1 at the end of the 2012 season.
