If overlanding is your thing (and even if not) and you live in the Southwestern region of the US, it's likely you've heard of the Mojave Road. Riddled with minor obstacles, beautiful scenery, and plenty of history, this intermediate trail is a perfect 3-day adventure.

The caveat: we tried to do it solo in 1.5 days... 117 miles of trail, a deep river crossing, cactuses everywhere (pro tip: don't bring a fluffy dog), intense heat, and tons of fun. Bring plenty of water, make sure your 4x4 is working (although we rarely needed it), and give yourself plenty of time to explore the vast desert landscapes!
